The standard values for nutritional requirements are revised every five years in the "Nutritional Requirements of the Japanese" compiled by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. These are shown for major nutrients by gender, age, and activity level. The minimum necessary intake is called the required amount and is distinguished from the required amount.
