Lux - Lux (English spelling)

The International System of Units (SI) unit of illuminance. The symbol is lx. It is one of the SI derived units that is expressed with a specific name and symbol. It refers to the illuminance of a surface when a luminous flux of 1 lumen is uniformly distributed over an area of ​​1 square meter. It was adopted in Germany in 1897 and was also called the metric candle. The unit of illuminance in the imperial system is 1 lumen per square foot, or foot-candle, which is equivalent to 10.764 lux.
