Li Lin-fu (English spelling)
[raw]?
[Died] Tenpo 11 (752)
A prime minister in the mid-Tang Dynasty of China. A member of the Tang Dynasty imperial family, he held various government posts and was described as having "honey in his mouth and a sword in his belly." In 734, he became prime minister and defeated his political opponents one after another. He also gained the favor of Xuanzong by winning over his favorite concubine Wu Huifei and his favorite eunuch Gao Lishi, and wielded great power. To maintain his power, he appointed people of other ethnic groups to military command posts. An Lushan was one of them, and this was an indirect cause of the An Lushan Rebellion. After his death, Yang Guozhong accused him of plotting rebellion by allying with the Turks, so he was stripped of his official title and his children were exiled.
