Toukaroku

A chronological history from the Qing Dynasty in China. There are four types: (1) Compiled by Jiang Liangji, 32 volumes. Its name comes from the fact that the National History Museum where the compiler worked was located inside the Donghua Gate of the Beijing Imperial Palace. When the National History Museum was opened in 1765, the compiler, who became the compiler, had access to annals and other records as part of his job, and so based on these he wrote a description of the period from the founding of the state to 1735. The narrative is concise. (2) Compiled by Wang Xianqian, 195 volumes, with 430 volumes of sequels. He considered Jiang Liangji's version too brief, and extensively expanded it to cover the period from the beginning of the state to the Yongzheng period (1723-35), and added sequels for the Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng, and Tongzhi periods (1862-74). It is also known as the Donghua Lu of the Eleven Dynasties. (3) Pan Yifu's Donghua Lu of the Xianfeng Dynasty, 69 volumes, is a compilation of the Xianfeng period (1851-61) only. (4) Zhu Shoupeng's Donghua Xulu of the Guangxu period, 220 volumes, is a compilation of the Guangxu period (1875-1908) only, and is an excellent historical source.

中国、清(しん)朝の編年体の史書。次の4種がある。（1）蒋良驥撰(しょうりょうきせん)、32巻。この名は、撰者が勤務していた国史館が北京(ペキン)宮城の東華門内にあったのにちなむ。1765年国史館が開かれ、纂修(さんしゅう)となった撰者が、その職掌がら実録その他の記録を閲覧することができたので、それらをもとに国初から1735年までを記述した。叙述は簡潔である。（2）王先謙(おうせんけん)撰、195巻、続録430巻。蒋良驥のそれが簡潔にすぎるとして、国初から雍正(ようせい)期（1723～35）までを重補し、乾隆(けんりゅう)、嘉慶(かけい)、道光、咸豊(かんぽう)、同治（1862～74）までの続録を加えた。『十一朝東華録』ともいう。（3）潘頤福(はんいふく)撰、『咸豊朝東華録』69巻。咸豊朝（1851～61）だけを編集したもの。（4）朱寿朋(しゅじゅほう)撰、『光緒(こうちょ)東華続録』220巻は光緒朝（1875～1908）の事跡だけを記載したもので、史料として優れている。
