Liquid food - Ryuudou-shoku (English spelling) liquid food

A type of food for sick people, it is a liquid food that does not contain solids and can be swallowed as is. In addition to gruel, kudzu soup, fruit juice, milk, eggs, soup, and yogurt, vegetables and fruits can also be used by blending them and straining them. It is usually given orally, but it can also be given through a vinyl tube into the nose as tube feeding.

病人食の一種で、固形分を含まない流動状の食事をいい、そのまま飲み込める。重湯、葛(くず)湯、果汁、牛乳、卵、スープ、ヨーグルトなどのほか、野菜や果物などもミキサーにかけて裏漉(うらご)しすれば用いられる。普通は経口的に与えるが、ビニル管を使い経鼻的に経管栄養として与えることもある。
