A feudal lord during the Sengoku period. It is said that he was a descendant of Fujiwara Hidesato, but it is unclear. The first Hideie was appointed as the land steward of Ryuzoji in Hizen Province and called himself the Ryuzoji clan. During the Muromachi period, he belonged to the Shoni clan, but during the Sengoku period, Takanobu emerged and advanced into Chikugo and Hizen, becoming as powerful as the Shimazu and Otomo clans. In 1584, he was defeated by the Shimazu clan and Takanobu was killed in battle. His son Masaie was in poor health, so his vassal, the Nabeshima clan, took over state affairs in his place, and in 1607 the Ryuzoji clan died out.
