The Great Limestone Cave (a natural monument) is located in the limestone region of Iwaizumi Town, Iwate Prefecture. In the Edo period, it was called Iwaizumi Cave. The total length is about 2,500 m, and groundwater has dissolved the limestone, creating stalagmites and stalactites. The long-eared bat and other creatures (natural monuments) live in the cave.
