Born on October 11, 37th year of King Jungjong's reign. Passed his liberal arts exam in 1566. During the Imjin Waeran (Imjin War), he served as Chief of Military Affairs, Chief Cabinet Secretary (supervisor of the generals), and Prime Minister, and successfully repelled the Japanese army by promoting Yi Sun-sin. After the war, he wrote "Chohirok." He died on May 6th, 40th year of King Seonjo's reign. He was 66 years old. His pen name was Jiken. His pen name was Seo-gae.
