"Wei Zhi Dong Yi Biography"

…The "Records of the Three Kingdoms" Weizhi's "Eastern Barbarians" is the oldest and most detailed record of the Han people, and according to it they were divided into three groups and lived in the east. Mahan Yukoku, to the west Jinhan It is said that there were 12 states, including the Byeonjin (also called Byeonhan or Byeonjinhan) states, living together in the three states of Jinhan and the three states of Wuhan, but the actual nature of these states and the number of states are extremely vague. In the description in the Wei Zhi Dongyi Zhuan of the Records of the Three Kingdoms, there was no supreme ruler who unified these three states, and each tribe lived together, and the distinction between Byeonjin (Byeonhan) and Jinhan in particular is unclear. Also, although it is written that there are three states, these three states are not classified based on clear criteria such as language or customs.
