A Chinese physician during the late Jin Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, he was one of the four great physicians. His pen names were Shou-zhen and He-jian. He believed that fire and heat were the main causes of illness, and preferred to treat illness by draining fire. He used a lot of cold and cool medicines, so he was called the Cold and Cool School.
