Ryugado Cave

Japanese: 竜河洞 - りゅうがどう

A limestone cave (natural monument and historic site) in Tosayamada-cho (now Kami City), Kochi Prefecture. Located on the hillside of Mt. Sanbo, the cave is 4.3 km long. Discovered in 1931. Divided into two caves, east and west, the cave is rich in variety and contains the remains of a Yayoi period dwelling. There is a museum and a rare bird center near the entrance, and you can get there by bus from Tosayamada Station on the Tosan Line. The Ryugado Skyline runs from Noichi-cho (now Konan City).

高知県土佐山田町（現・香美市）にある鍾乳(しょうにゅう)洞（天然記念物・史跡）。三宝山の中腹にあり，洞の延長4.3km。1931年発見。東西の２洞に分かれ，洞内は変化に富み，弥生(やよい)時代の住居遺跡もある。入口付近には博物館，珍鳥センターがあり，土讃線土佐山田駅などからバス。野市町（現・香南市）から竜河洞スカイラインが通じる。
