A Buddhist ruin in Andhra Pradesh, India. Located on the south bank of the downstream Krishna River, a large pagoda was built in the second half of the 2nd century with donations from the Andhra dynasty. The parapet and the reliefs on the outer walls of the pagoda are considered masterpieces of Andhra art. It was destroyed in the 19th century, but many sculptures were excavated and are kept in the Madras (Chennai), Calcutta (Kolkata) and British Museums.
