A Goryeo (Korean) civil servant and scholar. His first name was Jigong. His pen name was Jungsi. His pen names were Ikjae, Siljae, and Rekio. He was from Gyeongju. He played an important role in diplomatic negotiations with the Yuan Dynasty, and rose to the rank of Prime Minister. He was a disciple of Baek Yizheng and studied Neo-Confucianism. At the Ten Thousand Scrolls Hall built by King Zhongxuan in Yenching (Beijing), he studied and discussed the Classics of Classics with Yuan Dynasty scholars Yao Sui, Yuan Mingsun, Zhao Mengfu, and Yan Fu, and established the foundations of Goryeo Neo-Confucianism. He also introduced Zhao Mengfu's style of calligraphy to Goryeo, making it popular. His works include a collection of essays called "Okinawa Haisetsu," which contains unusual stories, strange events, character reviews, poetry, and reviews of paintings and calligraphy that are not found in historical records, and "Massai Ranko," a collection of his poetry and prose, which contains translations of folk songs from Goryeo into Chinese poetry.

朝鮮,高麗の文臣,学者。初名は之公。字は仲思。号は益斎,実斎,櫟翁(れきおう)。慶州の人。元との外交折衝で重要な役割を果たし,官は門下侍中(首相)に至る。白頤正の門人で朱子学を修め,忠宣王が燕京(北京)に建てた万巻堂で,元の学者姚燧(ようすい),元明善,趙孟頫(ちようもうふ),閻復らと経史について研究討論を行い,高麗朱子学の基礎を固めた。また趙孟頫の書体を高麗に導入し流行させた。著書には,史書に見えない異聞,奇事,人物評,詩文,書画品評等を載せた随筆集《櫟翁稗説(はいせつ)》や,彼の詩文集で,高麗民間歌謡を漢詩に翻訳したものを収める《益斎乱藁(らんこう)》等がある。
