[Died] 1788, Beijing. Leader of the Taiwan Rebellion that occurred in the late Qianlong period of the Qianlong Dynasty. Born in Zhangzhou (Fujian Province). He went to Taiwan and became a police officer in Changhua County, but later gained power as the leader of the local Tiandihui (→Sanhehui). In 1786, he rebelled against the oppression of the authorities, occupied the Changhua and Chiayi areas, and established independence, naming the era Shuntian. However, the following year, he was captured by an attack by the Qing's punitive forces, sent to Beijing and executed. The three major rebellions in Taiwan under the Qing Dynasty are the Zhu Yigui Rebellion, the Dai Wanshi Rebellion, and the Shuangwen Rebellion.

中国，清の乾隆朝末期に起った台湾反乱の指導者。漳州 (福建省) の人。台湾に渡って彰化県の捕吏となったが，やがてその地の天地会 (→三合会 ) の領袖として勢力をもち，官憲の弾圧に抗して乾隆 51 (1786) 年反乱を起し，彰化，嘉義一帯を占領して独立し，順天と年号を定めた。しかし翌年，清の討伐軍の攻撃を受けて捕えられ，北京に送られて処刑された。朱一貴の乱，戴万世の乱および爽文の起した乱を清朝治下台湾における三大反乱という。
