Mount Rishiri

An active volcano on Rishiri Island, Hokkaido. It is 1,721 meters above sea level. It is also called Mount Rishiri or Rishiri Fuji. Because it is located at a high latitude, many alpine plants can be seen at the summit. There are hiking trails from Oshidomari and Kutsugata. 北海道，利尻島にある活火山。標高1721m。利尻岳，利尻富士とも呼ばれる。高緯度にあるため，山頂部には多くの高山植物が見られる。鴛泊(おしどまり)，沓形(くつがた)から登山路がある。利尻礼文サロベツ国立公園に属し，日本百名山にも選ばれている。
