Solo concert, solo performance. The word originates from the Latin recito (to recite), and originally referred to a poetry reading, but later came to be applied to solo public performances (solo performances) in literature, music, etc. In Japan, it is mainly used in the music field, and refers to a concert with one performer (excluding an accompanist), but today, this name tends to be used to refer to small-scale concerts with two or three performers as well. There is also a form of joint recital, in which multiple soloists (singers) perform together. The first time this word was used to mean a solo performance is said to have been in a notice for a piano concert by Liszt held in London on June 9, 1840.
