Local law applied within a land. In medieval Germany, as the regional administration of the land expanded, this law evolved from tribal law, which was based on personalism, and formed a special local law in contrast to Imperial law, which was a direct law that was applicable throughout the country. Furthermore, in contrast to special laws such as city law, Rhine law, and samurai law, Land law was the general law within the land. This division of various legal spheres was a major factor preventing the unification of German law. Medieval law books such as the Saxon Spiegel and the various Land Codes (→ General Land Law of Prussia) are typical examples of Land law. (→ Territorial Law)

ラント内に適用される地方法。中世ドイツにおいて，ラントの地域行政の進出に伴って，属人主義をとる部族法から分化した法で，全国共通に通用した直接法たる帝国法に対し，地方特別法を形成した。また，ラント法は都市法やレーン法，家士法などの特別法に対しては，ラント内における普通法の関係にあった。このような諸法圏の分裂がドイツ法の統一を妨げる大きな原因となった。『ザクセン・シュピーゲル』などの中世の法書や各ラント法典 (→プロシア一般ラント法 ) などがラント法の典型である。 (→領邦法 )
