Konstitutsiya N. Murav'yova

After studying at Moscow University, he participated in the Napoleonic Wars from 1813. In 1816, he participated in the founding of the first Decembrist secret society, the Union of Salvation, and later became a prominent member of the Northern Society that replaced it. He drafted the Muravyov Constitution, which was to become Russia's future constitution. It called for constitutional monarchy, the emancipation of serfs, equality of all before the law, and freedom of speech, press, and religion.
