The language spoken by Sephardic Jews (descendants of the Jews expelled from Spain at the end of the 15th century). It is also called Judeo-Spanish. It was formed by the mixing of Hebrew words with Middle Spanish, and retains features lost in modern Spanish. It is written with Hebrew characters. There are an estimated 200,000 speakers in the Balkans, North Africa, Turkey, etc.

セファルディム・ユダヤ人 (15世紀末にスペインから追放されたユダヤ人の子孫) の話す言語。ユダヤ＝スペイン語ともいう。中期スペイン語にヘブライ語の単語が混って生じたもので，現代スペイン語には失われた特徴を保っている。ヘブライ文字で書かれる。話し手は，バルカン半島，アフリカ北部，トルコなどに約 20万人いるとみられる。
