The language spoken by Sephardic Jews (descendants of the Jews expelled from Spain at the end of the 15th century). It is also called Judeo-Spanish. It was formed by the mixing of Hebrew words with Middle Spanish, and retains features lost in modern Spanish. It is written with Hebrew characters. セファルディム・ユダヤ人 (15世紀末にスペインから追放されたユダヤ人の子孫) の話す言語。ユダヤ＝スペイン語ともいう。中期スペイン語にヘブライ語の単語が混って生じたもので，現代スペイン語には失われた特徴を保っている。ヘブライ文字で書かれる。話し手は，バルカン半島，アフリカ北部，トルコなどに約 20万人いるとみられる。
