?-1571 The last ruler of the Islamic society established in Manila, Philippines. The first Islamic society in the Philippine archipelago was formed on the island of Jolo at the southern tip in the late 14th century, and by the beginning of the 16th century, an Islamic society had also been established in the northern area around the trading port of Manila Bay. When the Spanish invasion began in the late 16th century, there was a large Muslim barangay led by Raja Soliman in Manila on the south bank of the Pasig River, and a Muslim barangay led by his uncle Raja Dula (Lakan Dula) in Tondo on the north bank of the Pasig River.
