Japanese: ラ･コルメナ（英語表記）La Colmena

A Japanese settlement in a farming village located 130km southeast of the capital Asuncion in the province of Paraguari in southern Paraguay. It was the first place where large-scale Japanese agricultural migration to Paraguay was planned. In 1933, Brazil's immigration restrictions made it difficult for Japanese people to migrate to the country, so as a measure to address this issue, the Japanese government obtained permission to settle there from the Paraguayan government, which was open to Japanese immigrants at the time. In 1936, the settlement was purchased in La Colmena, and 11 families consisting of 81 people began settling there that same year. By 1941, 123 families and 790 people had settled there.

パラグアイ南部，パラグアリ県にあり，首都アスンシオンの南東130kmに位置する農村で，日本人入植地。パラグアイへの日本人農業移住が大規模に計画された最初の地である。1933年のブラジルの移民受入れ制限法により日本から同国への移住が難航，その対策の一つとして当時日本人移住に開放的であったパラグアイ政府から入植許可をとりつけた。36年ラ･コルメナに入植地を購入，同年81名からなる11家族の入植を開始，41年までに123家族，790名が入植した。
