A late Paleolithic site in the Ain department in eastern France. During excavation work by P. Pissot of France and H. Movius of the United States, ten pebbles (approximately 10cm in diameter) with animal carvings were found. These pebbles often have multiple images of animals carved into them, with images of different animals such as horses, reindeer, and cows often overlapping, suggesting that they were used for drawing practice. Large quantities of these types of carved stones (or painted stones) are sometimes excavated from certain ruins, suggesting that there was a group or place at the time where they were produced intensively.
