A collection of folk tales collected by the Brothers Grimm. The original title is Fairy Tales for Children and Homes. The first volume was published in 1812, and after further revisions the seventh edition was published in 1857. The first edition contained 156 stories, while the seventh edition contained 210. With the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the nation, the collection includes fairy tales, jokes, tall tales, and biographies of saints, collected from direct oral transmission and ancient documents.
