A collection of folk tales collected by the Brothers Grimm. The original title is Fairy Tales for Children and Homes. The first volume was published in 1812, and after further revisions the seventh edition was published in 1857. The first edition contained 156 stories, while the seventh edition contained 210. With the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the nation, the collection includes fairy tales, jokes, tall tales, and biographies of saints, collected from direct oral transmission and ancient documents. Some of the most famous stories are Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, and The Town Musicians of Bremen.

グリム兄弟が集めた民話集。原題は《子どもと家庭のための昔話集》。1812年に初版第１巻を出版，後さらに改訂を重ね第７版を1857年に出した。初版は156話，第７版では210話が収められている。民族の文化遺産の保存を目的に，直接の口伝えや古文献から，童話，笑話，ほら話，聖徒伝などを集めている。〈赤ずきん〉〈白雪姫〉〈ヘンゼルとグレーテル〉〈いばら姫〉〈ブレーメンの音楽隊〉などは特に有名。
