Lions Club

Japanese: ライオンズ･クラブ（英語表記）Lions Club

Founded in Chicago, USA in 1917, it is an international community service organization with 36,996 clubs and 1,331,055 members (1984) in 157 countries and territories around the world. Its official name is the International Association of Lions Clubs, and its headquarters are in Oak Brook, Illinois, USA. Each Lions club is a unit that makes up the international association, and carries out various service activities in the area in which the club exists.

1917年にアメリカのシカゴで発足し，現在世界157ヵ国および領域に3万6996クラブ，133万1055名の会員(1984)を擁する国際的社会奉仕団体。正式の名称は〈ライオンズ･クラブ国際協会International Association of Lions Clubs〉で，本部はアメリカのイリノイ州オークブルックにある。各ライオンズ･クラブは国際協会を構成する一単位で，クラブの存在する地域に対してさまざまな奉仕活動を行う。
