Kayazu Inn

…Under the ancient Ritsuryo system, there was a Kusatsu ferry that connected Matsunouma-ya (present-day Tsushima City) and Niimizo-ya (present-day Nagoya City) on the Tokaido road that entered Owari from Ise. In the Kamakura period, Kayazu-juku flourished as a relay point between Kuroda-juku (present-day Kisogawa-cho, Haguri-gun, Aichi Prefecture) and Atsuta (Atsuta Ward, Nagoya City) on the Kamakura-kaido road that entered Owari from Mino-Sunomata (present-day Sunomata Town, Anpachi County, Gifu Prefecture), and as a strategic point where the road from Ise through Tsushima and the Kamakura-kaido joined.
