…Inspired by the unveiling of Edison's Kinetoscope in Paris in 1894, and with the help of his brother Auguste Lumière (1862-1954, together they are often referred to as the Lumière Brothers), he developed the Cinématographe, a camera and projector that combined ideas and inventions from French inventor Étienne-Jules Marey (1830-1904), British photographer and inventor Eadweard Muybridge, and, of course, Edison, and received a patent for it in 1895.
