VE Frankl wrote this account of his experiences in a Nazi concentration camp based on his own experiences. The original German title is Ein Psycholog erlebt das Konzentrationslager. It was published in 1947 after World War II and caused a stir. As a Jew, he was imprisoned by Nazi Germany in the notorious Auschwitz (or, more precisely, its branch camp). He secretly wrote down his vivid experiences in shorthand on small pieces of paper, and after his release, he compiled them into this book. V.E.
