During World War I, Madame Curie learned that there were almost no X-ray facilities in field hospitals, let alone hospitals in the rear. She had the first car equipped with X-ray equipment built, and traveled around the field hospitals with her daughter Irene. She later published a book titled Diagnostic X-rays and War (1921). Currently, X-rays are widely used for early detection of stomach cancer, pulmonary infiltration, and pulmonary tuberculosis, and in particular, CT scans have recently made it possible to calculate X-rays of cross sections of the body (X-ray examination). …
