Yokota Manor - Yokota no Sho

Japanese:
Yokota Manor - Yokota no Sho
A manor in Nita County, Izumo Province. It was located in the upper reaches of the Hii River in what is now Okuizumo Town, Shimane Prefecture. By the end of the Heian period, it was established as the territory of Yamashiro Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine. In the early Kamakura period, an agreement was made between the Mitokoro clan, the land steward, and the Hojo clan to pay 50 kanmon each in iron tax and official fees in spring and autumn, but the land stewardship was not advanced, and the land stewardship was transferred to the Hojo clan. In 1317, a part of it became the imperial estate (the Imperial Court Estate and the Sento Estate), and in 1389, a part of it became the estate of Unryu-in Temple of Sennō-ji Temple in Kyoto. Around this time, Izumo Shugo Yamana Mitsuyuki seized Yokota Manor, but the family was wiped out in the Meitoku Rebellion, and during the Sengoku period, the Misawa clan built Fujigase Castle in the manor and strengthened their control over the area. The payment of annual taxes to the Imperial Palace continued until the Sengoku period.
