Tomb of Huo Qubing

Japanese: 霍去病墓 - かくきょへいぼ

The tomb of Huo Qubing in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, China. Huo Qubing (140-117 BC) was an outstanding military commander of the Western Han Dynasty, brave and decisive, but died of illness at the young age of 24 in the Qilian Mountains. He was active in foreign campaigns to develop the Silk Road, driving the Xiongnu people northward and ensuring traffic safety and a route for foreign trade along the Hexi Corridor. Numerous artifacts from the Han Dynasty have been excavated from the tomb, including bricks, roof tiles , molds , bronze wine vessels, rhinos , incense burners , dolls, and horse-riding figures.

中国の陜西(せんせい)省の省都、西安（シーアン）にある霍去病の墓。霍去病（前140～前117年）は前漢時代の優れた武将で、勇敢かつ決断力に富んでいたが、24歳の若さで祁連山で病死した。シルクロード開拓のために外征で活躍し、匈奴人(きょうどじん)を北方に追いやって、河西回廊の交通安全と外国貿易の道を確保した。墓の中には漢時代のレンガや瓦当(がとう)、鋳型(いがた)、青銅製の酒器、犀(さい)、薫炉(くんろ)、人形、騎馬俑などの出土品が数多くある。
