Japanese: 湯殿山神社 - ゆどのさんじんじゃ

A shrine located in Asahi Village, Higashitagawa County, Yamagata Prefecture. Formerly a small national shrine. The deities enshrined are Oyamatsumi-no-kami , Onamuchi -no-kami , and Sukunahiko -no-kami . Founded by Prince Hachiko in the 13th year of the reign of Empress Suiko ( 605 ) at Mount Yudono. Originating from ancient mountain worship, there has been no shrine building since ancient times, and the rocks from which hot springs gush forth are regarded as the object of worship. Together with Gassan Shrine and Mount Haguro Shrine, it is collectively known as Dewa Sanzan Shrine. Until the Edo period, it was considered a training center for the secrets of Haguro Shugendo, and was called Yudono Gongen and Yudono-san Daigongen, but was renamed to its current name in the Meiji period.

山形県東田川郡朝日村にある神社。旧国幣小社。祭神は大山祇神(おおやまつみのかみ)・大己貴神(おおなむちのかみ)・少彦名神(すくなひこなのかみ)。推古天皇一三年（六〇五）蜂子皇子が湯殿山に創祀。上代の山岳信仰に発し古来社殿は設けず、温泉がわき出る巖を神体とする。月山神社・羽黒山神社と合わせて出羽三山神社と総称される。江戸時代までは羽黒修験道極意の道場とされ、湯殿権現、湯殿山大権現と呼ばれたが、明治時代現名に改称。
