A scholar from the Qing Dynasty in China. A native of Yi County, Anhui Province. His courtesy name was Lichu. Son of Yu Xian. His literary fame was boosted by the recognition of Sun Xingyan, and he was made a Juren in the first year of the Daoguang Era (1821), but he did not pass the Jinshi examination. He devoted his life to research, writing, and teaching. Based on his study of historical evidence that values "seeking truth from facts," he excelled in historical and geographical research, and also criticized feudal morality that placed men above women. He participated in the compilation of works such as "Jiaqing Yi County Journal" and "Imperially Authored Left-Handed Readings," and his main works include "Guishi Ruiko" and "Guishi Zunko."

中国，清の学者。安徽省い県の人。字は理初。兪獻の子。孫星衍 (えん) に認められて文名が揚がり，道光1 (1821) 年挙人となったが，進士には及第せず，研究，著述，教育に生涯をおくった。「実事求是」を重んじる考証学に基づき，史学，地理学にすぐれた研究を行い，また男尊女卑の封建道徳を批判した。『嘉慶い県志』『欽定左伝読本』などの編纂に加わり，その著述のおもなものに『癸巳類稿』『癸巳存稿』がある。
