〘noun〙① A city surrounded by walls. Urban city. Originally, it refers to ancient cities surrounded by walls, such as Luoyang and Chang'an in China. In Japan, the castle aspect is rare, but this name was used in accordance with the ancient Chinese capital system, and the Chinese-style capital system based on the Bojo system developed around palaces such as Naniwa Nagara Toyosaki Palace and Fujiwara-kyo. *Shoku Nihongi - June 784, Year 3 of Enryaku ( 784), "There, from the beginning, a capital city was built and a palace was constructed" [Zuo Zhuan of the Spring and Autumn Annals - Year 1 of Duke In] ② In particular, Karbila Castle, Shakyamuni's residence when he was a prince. *Heiji (around 1220) Volume 1: "It is 200 ri away from the capital. Miyakonojo Miyakonojo

[1][一] The name of a place in the southern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. It is the birthplace of the Shimazu clan, and developed as a castle town of a branch of the Satsuma Domain during the Edo period. It is a distribution center for agricultural, forestry, and livestock products, and its processing and woodworking industries are thriving. It was incorporated as a city in 1924 ( Taisho 13 ). [2] In 1871 ( Meiji 4 ) , the entire Obi Prefecture and parts of Nobeoka, Takanabe, and Kagoshima Prefectures were merged to form a prefecture in Hyuga Province. In 1873, it merged with Mimitsu Prefecture to form Miyazaki Prefecture. [2] The capital as the site of the royal castle. みやこのじょう みやこのジャウ【都城】

[1][一] 宮崎県南部の地名。島津氏発祥の地で、江戸時代は薩摩藩支藩の城下町として発展。農林畜産物の集散地で、その加工、木工業が盛ん。大正一三年(一九二四)市制。[二] 明治四年(一八七一)飫肥(おび)県全域と延岡・高鍋・鹿児島の各県の一部を統合して日向国に置かれた県。同六年に美々津県と合併して宮崎県となる。[2] 王城の地としての都。とじょう。※説経節・さんせう太夫(与七郎正本)(1640頃)下「いさやつちぐるまをつくって、みやこのしゃうへひいてとらせんとて、みやこのじゃうへぞひいたりける」
