Yuijo endorsement

Japanese: 唯浄裏書 - ゆいじょううらがき

A commentary on the Goseibai Shikimoku. 1 volume. Author: Yuijo. Articles 1 to 19 are missing, and the readings and interpretations of legal terms are written on the back of each article from 20 to 51. The date of its creation is known to be 1289 (Shoō 2) based on Yuijo's colophon, but the details of its overall meaning are still unclear. The author, Yuijo, was a member of the Saito clan, and was known as Motoshige (real name Motoharu), who called himself Fujinai Hyoe Nyudo, and served as Rokuhara magistrate during the Einin and Shōan eras (1293-1302). This book is the oldest commentary on the Shikimoku and is an important historical document in the history of medieval law.

《御成敗式目》の注釈書。1巻。作者は唯浄。1条から19条まで欠失しており，20条以降51条までの各条文の裏に法律用語の訓，解釈などを記す。成立年代は唯浄の奥書によって1289年(正応2)と知られるが，いまだその全体裁については明らかでない。作者唯浄は斎藤氏で，基茂(本名基治)といい藤内兵衛入道と称して，永仁･正安年間(1293‐1302)のころ六波羅奉行人として活動した。本書は最古の式目注釈書であり，中世法制史上重要な史料である。
