Japanese: 研磨布紙 - けんまふし

A general term for abrasive tools in which abrasive particles are attached to the surface of cloth or paper with glue or other adhesives. Abrasives used include fused alumina (for polishing iron and steel), emery (for surface finishing), silicon carbide (for polishing soft metals), garnet (for polishing wood), and silica stone (for general purposes). There are also waterproof abrasive papers that use drying oils such as tung oil as an adhesive. They come in sheets, rolls, belts, etc. →Sandpaper
