Japanese: 山中[町] - やまなか

A former town in Enuma County in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture, occupying the middle reaches of the Daishoji River. The town's center is a hot spring town that is part of the Kaga Onsen hot spring resort area, and is home to the ancient famous Yamanaka Onsen (a salt-containing gypsum spring with a temperature of 21-51°C). Buses run from Kaga City to the town. The town produces bicycle parts and Yamanaka lacquerware (a popular lacquerware made from zelkova wood). The Kutani area is the birthplace of Kutani ware. It was incorporated into Kaga City in October 2005. Area: ^{154.39 km2} . Population: 10,019 (2003).
