Located in the eastern part of the Yamato Plateau, it borders Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, across the Nabari River to the east, and the Nabari River flows north with its tributaries. In the west, the Nunome River, a tributary of the Kizu River, flows north. The northeastern part of the village was the site of the Daian-ji Temple and Todai-ji Temple forests during the Nara period.
