Iwaimachi - Iwaimachi

...This is a parlor song sung in the brothels of Iwaimachi and other areas in the Mihama region of Ibaraki Prefecture (Minato, Hiraiso, and Isohama, which are located at the mouth of the Naka River). The "oar rowing song," which has been sung by fishermen who stop by this area since the Edo period, was perfected to its current melody in the 1880s.
