A type of Raigo-zu painting. It depicts the Amida Triad coming from the Pure Land to welcome the Buddha over the mountains, and is said to have been inspired by Eshin Sozu. It was made during the Kamakura period, and the most famous ones are from Zenrin-ji, Ueno-ke, Konkai-Komyoji, and others. The one from Konkai-Komyoji has five-colored threads attached to Amida's hand as if a person passing on could cling to it. → Pure Land Buddhism Art Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
