Year of death: January 3, 1801 (January 27, 1801) Year of birth: November 14, 1746 (December 25, 1746) A nobleman in the Edo period. Son of Gon Dainagon Yanagiwara Mitsutsuna. In 1775 (Anei 4), he became Gon Dainagon, but was dismissed from his post due to an incident in 1774, and in 1796 (Kansei 8), he was confined to his home for life for reasons that were inappropriate to his status, and he passed away. During this time, he devoted his talents to the compilation of the great work Zokushigusho (a chronology from Emperor Kameyama to Emperor Go-Momozono. Drafted in 1777 and completed in 1798). His feelings in his later years can be seen in his posthumous poem, "It is hard to see how hard it is to leave a name for the book I will leave behind for future generations." His essays include Kanso Jigo. <References> Korezawa Kyozo, Zokushigusho (Nihon Rekishi, No. 194) (Toshio Takebe) Source: Asahi Japanese Historical Biography: Asahi Shimbun Publications Inc.
