Meckel's diverticulum

...There are no symptoms. However, a special diverticulum called Meckel's diverticulum can be found near the end of the ileum. Unlike other diverticula, this diverticulum has a muscular layer and is the intestinal side of the vitelline duct (which closes after birth), which connects the intestine to the vitelline membrane during early fetal development.
