Jacobi
German philosopher. President of the Munich Academy. Influenced by Hume and Rousseau, he preached the "philosophy of faith" and "philosophy of emotion" in opposition to Enlightenment rationalism, and together with Hamann and Herder, he was a pioneer of the German Romantic movement. His works include "The Doctrine of Spinoza" (1785) and "Divine Things and Their Revelation" (1811).

Jacobi

German mathematician. He entered the University of Berlin and studied mathematics by himself using Euler's writings. In 1829, he became a professor at the University of Königsberg. He is known for his contributions to elliptic functions, partial differential equations, and analytical mechanics, and is known for the Jacobian (functional determinant) and the Hamilton-Jacobi differential equation in mechanics.

ヤコビ

ドイツの数学者。ベルリン大学に入り,オイラーの著書により数学を独習。1829年ケーニヒスベルク大学教授。楕円関数,偏微分方程式,解析力学等に業績があり,ヤコビアン(関数行列式),力学のハミルトン=ヤコビの微分方程式等に名を残す。
