Ganymede (English spelling)
A painting by Correggio. Oil on canvas. 164 cm high, 71 cm wide. Along with "Danae" and "Io," this is part of a series of mythological paintings known as "The Love Story of Jupiter." It was commissioned by Federico II of Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua. It depicts the scene in which Jupiter transforms into an eagle and abducts the beautiful boy Ganymede. コレッジョの絵画。カンバスに油彩。縦164センチ、横71センチ。「ダナエ」「イオ」と同じく、「ユピテルの愛の物語」とよばれる神話画の連作の一。マントバ公であるゴンザーガ家のフェデリコ2世の依頼により制作。ユピテルが鷲に姿を変え、美少年ガニュメデスを誘拐する場面を描く。ウィーン美術史美術館所蔵。
