A painting by Correggio. Oil on canvas. 164 cm high, 71 cm wide. Along with "Danae" and "Io," this is part of a series of mythological paintings known as "The Love Story of Jupiter." It was commissioned by Federico II of Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua. It depicts the scene in which Jupiter transforms into an eagle and abducts the beautiful boy Ganymede.
