A lunar exploration project by NASA in the United States, aimed at soft-landing an unmanned probe on the moon's surface and conducting geological surveys and photographing it. Surveyor means a surveyor. It had a preparatory character for the Apollo program. The first landed on the Ocean of Storms in June 1966 and transmitted about 11,000 photographs. The third landed on the Ocean of Storms in April 1967 and broadcast images of an automatic shovel digging on the moon on television, revealing that the lunar soil resembled wet sand. The fifth landed on Mare Tranquility in September 1967 and chemically analyzed lunar materials using radiation to find that they resembled basalt. The sixth landed in the central cove in November 1967, and the seventh landed near Chico Crater in January 1968. The project was completed with the seventh. The second and fourth failed to make a soft landing. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
