A Chinese bowed string instrument, a type of huqin. It is so named because the body is made from a coconut shell. The top plate of the body is made of paulownia wood and the neck is relatively long. It has two strings. Those made from relatively small coconut shells and with a short neck produce high notes and are called "hoko."
