This is an astrological book written in Alexandria in 149 by Yavaneśvara (King of the Greeks) in Sanskrit, and translated into Sanskrit by Sphujidhvaja of India in 269. Although it has been Indianized in many ways, it is extremely important as a book that introduced Western astrology in the Hellenistic period to India. Recently, an edited version and an English translation by D. Pingree have been published, and it is finally attracting attention. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
