Yagi [town] - goat
A former town in Funai County, central Kyoto Prefecture. It occupies the northwestern part of the Kameoka Basin, where the Oi River flows southeast, and is served by the San'in Main Line. Rice is the main crop, but the area also produces vegetables, fruit, matsutake mushrooms, and chestnuts. It has good transport links to the Kyoto-Han area, and has many part-time farmers. In January 2006, it merged with Miyama Town in Kitakuwata County, Sonobe Town in Funai County, and Hiyoshi Town to become a city, forming Nantan City. Area: 49.56 km2 . Population: 8,930 (2003).

京都府中部，船井郡の旧町。大堰(おおい)川が南東流する亀岡盆地の北西部を占め，山陰本線が通じる。米作を主とし，野菜，果樹，マツタケ，クリも産する。京阪地方への交通の便がよく兼業農家が多い。2006年１月，北桑田郡美山町，船井郡園部町，日吉町と合併し市制，南丹市となる。49.56km2。8930人（2003）。
