A former town in Aida County, eastern Okayama Prefecture. The main settlement is Fukumoto on the left bank of the Yoshino River, a tributary of the Yoshii River. In addition to tea, the town is also famous for cultivating grapes and shiitake mushrooms. In March 2005, it merged with Katsuta Town in Katsuta County, Ohara Town in Aida County, Mimasaka Town, Sakuto Town, and Higashiawakura Village to become a city. 63.41 km2 . 3,582 people (2003). 岡山県東部，英田郡の旧町。中心集落は吉井川の支流吉野川左岸の福本。茶を特産するほか，ブドウ，シイタケの栽培が盛ん。2005年３月勝田郡勝田町，英田郡大原町，美作町，作東町，東粟倉村と合併し市制，美作市となる。63.41km2。3582人（2003）。
