Kegon-ji is the 33rd temple on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, and pilgrims came to offer their oizuru (pilgrims' pouches), leading to the formation of a temple town in the Tokuseki area. Yokozo-ji is known as the "Shosoin of Mino," and is home to many important cultural properties, including the Yakushi Nyorai statue, the principal image of the temple.
