A Kabuki dance drama. Tokiwazu. The original title was "Iro ni Aikata". It was first performed in November 1788 (Tenmei 8) at the Nakamuraza in Edo as a fourth dance in the Kaomise Kyogen "Touzumou Hana no Edokata", with a composition by Nakamura Nakazo I, Yoshiro by Matsumoto Koshiro IV, and Kamuro by Matsumoto Yonesaburou I. The lyrics were written by Sakurada Jisuke I, the music by Tobaya Satonaga I, and the choreography by Nishikawa Senzo II and others. Returning from Shimabara with a shaved head, the palanquin bearers Jirosaku of Naniwa and Yoshiro of Azuma each boast about their home countries, and at the end, Jirosaku is Ishikawa Goemon, and Yoshiro is Mashiba Hisakichi, revealing their true identities in a fight scene. The highlight is the dance that depicts the scenes of the red-light districts of the three capitals of Yoshiwara, Shimabara, and Shinmachi, and there is a rich variety, including Tanzen Rokuho, Shikata Monogatari, and the martial arts-wearing Jirosaku dancing an exaggerated dance of a woman. A representative work of Tokiwazu dance, it offers a tranquil atmosphere in the Tenmei style.

歌舞伎(かぶき)舞踊劇。常磐津(ときわず)。本名題(ほんなだい)『戻駕色相肩(いろにあいかた)』。1788年（天明8）11月、江戸・中村座初演の顔見世狂言『唐相撲花江戸方(とうずもうはなのえどかた)』の四立目(よたてめ)舞踊として、初世中村仲蔵(なかぞう)の次郎作、4世松本幸四郎の与四郎、初世松本米三郎(よねさぶろう)の禿(かむろ)たよりによって初演。作詞は初世桜田治助(じすけ)、作曲は初世鳥羽屋里長(とばやりちょう)、振付けは2世西川扇蔵(せんぞう)ほか。島原から禿を乗せた戻りの駕籠(かご)かき浪花の次郎作・吾妻の与四郎が互いに生国自慢の物語から廓(くるわ)話になり、最後は次郎作実は石川五右衛門(ごえもん)、与四郎実は真柴久吉という本性を現して立回りになる。眼目は吉原・島原・新町という三都の廓の場景を描いた振で、丹前(たんぜん)六方や仕方話、武張った次郎作が女の身ぶりを誇張して踊る悪身(わるみ)の踊りなど、変化に富む。常磐津舞踊の代表作で、天明(てんめい)調といわれる、のどかな気分が楽しめる。
